Private, preferential access to Miraflores Locks, one of the Panama Canal's three sets of locks, timed to coincide with active transits.
The tour begins with pickup at your hotel in Panama City and a 20–30 minute transfer to the Canal. At the Miraflores Visitor Center, a specialist guide — with deep knowledge of the Canal's operational and engineering history — leads a private tour that goes beyond the standard public visit: no lines, at your own pace, with special access to the outside lateral area next to the lock gates, ideal for a photo in front of the control house.
The experience also includes the Visitor Center's IMAX 3D theater, screening the 45-minute documentary "Panama Canal: A Land Divided, A World United," narrated by Morgan Freeman — a journey from the Spanish and French attempts to cross the isthmus to the American engineering feat, the recent expansion for Neopanamax ships, and Panama today.
At the end, the transfer back to your hotel is included.
No public lines, at your own pace — the Canal explained by those who know it best.
Food and beverages, special arrangements and any other particular requirement can be coordinated to tailor the experience to your occasion or preference.
Recommendation: Closed, flat shoes are suggested for access to the outdoor area beside the locks.
